Recent and future needs for high spatial resolution lead to increase the pupil diameters andthe focal lengths of space telescopes. In parallel, considerable efforts have been realised inthe field of image processing by developing techniques which require high levels ofperformances characterization. The main consequences are the increase of the size of theGround Support Equipments and facilities but also the mastering of the influence of theenvironment which becomes more and more fundamental. Wavefront and contrastmeasurements are two conventional but key tests which require constant evolution to beadapted to new needs.
