A series of system level tests were performed on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) spacecraft in early 2005 at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company's Denver, Colorado test facilities. The MRO spacecraft was subjected to modal, acoustic, shock/separation, and jitter testing in just over two months. Integrated test facilities and innovative test methods were utilized to streamline the testing. This paper will discuss the challenges, successes and lessons learned from this successful test program.
