Analysis of the Latest Characteristics and Motivation of MAs among Multinational Banks (ID: 8-050)

With the globalization of economy and liberation of finance approaching, there are more and more cross-border M&As (merger and acquisition) among banks. The characteristics of new mergers between banks are strategic actions, which are complimentary, industry-crossed and globalizing. The motivation of those M&A for banks is to seek for market share and synergistic effect of industries, finance and management. Unicredit Italiano S.P.A's (Italy) acquisition of HVB (Germany) on November 18, 2005 is a good example for those respects.
