The research on the physical properties of coal reservoir in northwest China is significant for improving the energy construction and retarding the energy crisis. Middle-Lower Jurassic coal-bearing strata mainly occur in Zhungaer, Tarim, Tuha, Qaidam, and so on. In northwest China, the low-rank coal reservoirs are characterized by huge thickness, stable distribution, gas coal and long flame coal as main coal types with fat coal and coking coal locally, and the value of R_(o, m) between 0.48%-0.80%.
