PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize the information of 13 C-NMR spectrum of coal to assist the user in grasping the characteristics of coal more easily and more accurately. SOLUTION: First spectrum data showing an NMR spectrum of a nuclear species 13C of a known coal having a known physical property value is obtained, and the obtained first spectrum data is used as a sample of an explanatory variable, Using the physical property value as a sample of the objective variable, the relationship between the explanatory variable and the objective variable is specified by multivariate analysis using the first spectral data and the physical property value of the known coal, and the physical property value is unknown. The 2nd spectrum data which shows the NMR spectrum about nuclide 13C of coal is acquired, and the physical-property value of unknown coal is estimated based on the acquired 2nd spectrum data and the specified relation.
