摘要

Hyperspectral remote sensing (HRS) has a history of more than twenty years. Since the beginning of 1980s, with the sustaining development of HRS technology, HRS has remained the leading place in the remote sensing community. With many airborne and space-borne imaging spectrometers were created and applied for hyperspectral remote sensing, a serious of basic image processing methodologies and spectral analysis methods have been developed. In geological application of hyperspectral remote sensing, imaging technology has advanced in two major ways: one is the improvement in the spatial resolution of images, another is the improvement in the spectral resolution of images. With the development of the sensor performance, especially the improvement in the spectral resolution of images, expands the capacity from qualitative analysis to quantitative extraction. All this composed the fundamental application of hyperspectral remote sensing in rocks and minerals detection system.
