Two-phase media theory considers that underground media consist of solid and fluid (include liquid and gas) filled in the pores. And then coal bed gas and coal measure strata is a kind of typical two-phase (solid phase & liquid phase) media. The paper analyzed reflected wave energy information of gas enriching section in goaf and cranny developed area in 3D seismic data adopting maximum energy scanning method based on two-phase media theory and coal-bed gas geology theory, and which showed that seismic wave energy moves to low frequency in two-phase media. And the forecasting gas results are fit close to actual data. So it makes important sense to study forecasting coal gas using 3D seismic exploration technique based on two-phase media theory.
