Study on Industry Sector and its Professional Consultancy Service

摘要

Although small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) play an important role in Chinese economy, until now they have not received much specific attention in relation with the intermediary organizations, which is an organic part of industrial clusters. In this paper, the industry clusters are taken as a network constructed with SMEs, intermediates, government organizations, and other NGOs, and so on. All these organizations take part in the development of the network. Based on the view of the theory of networks, the roles of the intermediary organizations can be analyzed in a new view and give us more innovative ideas. This paper gives a systematic analysis of the roles of intermediary organizations, which are taken on as no des of knowledge networks, trust networks, information networks, and business networks. In conclusion, intermediates play different roles in different networks, include knowledge collector, information communicator, trust intermediary, and participants of business. It also makes a number of recommendations as to how the government can further develop a genuine environmental policy for SMEs and intermediates.
