A novel flame retardant was synthesized from citric acid (CA) [1] and diethyl chorophosphate. It was used to impart flame retardance to cotton fabrics. Flamability and thermal behaviour of cotton fabrics treated with CADP were investigated via limiting oxygen index (LOI). The results indicate that the enhancement in flame retardance and the durability of the treated cotton fabrics.
