Confidence Intervals for the Shape Parameter of the Gamma Distribution

摘要

The natural log of the maximum likelihood estimate of the gamma distribution’s shapeparameter is found to be approximately normally distributed. This allows construction ofconfidence intervals using a regression-based estimate of its variance. Simulation studies showthe intervals to have outstanding coverage.
