IDEA CREATIVITY IN ELECTRONIC BRAINSTORMING: A THEORETICALFRAMEWORK ON TWO GSS DIMENSIONS

Based on the theory of task/technology fit, we examine a particular creativity software feature:the software graphic/outline mode, which facilitates group exhibition. Group exhibition canimprove the process structure and increase group’s creative performance—assessed by fouraspects of idea creativity. Additionally, communication support is believed to influence groupperformance. We develop a theoretical framework and state associated propositions.Practitioners can use the model to improve an electronic brainstorming session and researcherscan extend our study by exploring in depth the function of software interactive mode, the use ofgroup exhibition, and the impact of group exhibition in those modes.
