The active agents (Lactobacillus rhamnosus,α-amylase) formulated as tablets with CarboxymethylHigh Amylose Starch (CM-HAS) displayed higherstability after incubation in simulated gastricconditions (pH 1.2, pepsin) than the non-protectedagents. Thus, CM-HAS appears to be an interestingexcipient for bioactive agents transportation throughthe gastro-intestinal tract and gut delivery.
