The Generation 4 Non-Contact Stress Measurement System (Gen 4 NSMS) uses optical probes and highspeed electronics to acquire blade deflection data to obtain stress measurements. Multiple data sets fromdifferent engines have been acquired by the Gen 4 NSMS system. In most cases strain gages wereinstalled. This allows a direct comparison of amplitude, frequency, and phase of modes that aresensitive to the strain gage and the NSMS probe arrangement. The comparison of the measurementsbetween the strain gages and Gen 4 NSMS are discussed in this paper.
