Worldwide, seventy-five percent of the increased oilreserves comes from existing oil fields. It is importantto understand the residual hydrocarbon saturationdistributions and how to develop the old oilfieldsefficiently and economically. This paper presents amethod of using MRIL data to evaluate the residual oildistribution of the old oilfields and reservoirpreponderant channels formed by injection flange entryafter injection recovery, I.e. "high-capacity channel".This method is significant to understand residual oilsaturation at the stage of high water-cut, control the lowefficient and inefficient circulation of the injected water,and reduce the recovery cost.
