摘要

During the 90'ties and into the new millennium there has been an increased demand on accurate and updated spatial information. Creating accurate and up-to-date maps to cope with these needs has proved to be a hard challenge. Often the single users and authorities have gathered whatever digital or analogue available geo-data to create map features that fit their own specific needs. Other potential users of this collection of geo-data would often not benefit from the work, but will need to do almost the same job to create a sufficient map background for their needs. To help to structure this mapping problems the European Union set up and agreed on the INSPIRE directive. In Denmark a parallel work has been done. Initially as an e-government effort, later as an official INSPIRE response, developing FOT (shared object types) and Sector standardization within certain sectors. This paper describes the work done to standardize geo-data for controlling and monitoring purposes in Denmark.
