Thermal comfort analyses for a naturally ventilated residential building in Singapore have been studied parametrically on the basis of TAS simulations. One typical bedroom in the residential building has been taken as the subject. Four ventilation strategies, nighttime-only ventilation, daytime-only ventilation, full day ventilation and no ventilation, with the variation of construction materials have been evaluated for Singapore according to the number of thermal discomfort hours in the typical year. The results indicate that non-insulated construction materials with thermal mass inertia are ideal choice for naturally ventilated buildings in hot-humid climate. Full day ventilation for indoor thermal comfort takes better position than the other three ventilation strategies. However,with construction materials of heat conductance about 2 W/m2K and fairly thermal mass inertia, night ventilation strategy could achieve the maximum indoor thermal comfort hours in the typical year, which is slightly better than full day ventilation. Some recommendations for the naturally ventilated building have been provide for the residential building based on the simulation results.
