摘要

A simulation model for the cross wedge rolling (CWR) is presented by 3-dimension rigid-plastic finiteelement method (FEM) in this study. The whole forming process of CWR, including knifing zone, guiding zone,stretching zone and sizing zone, has been simulated using the FEM program DEFORM3D. Based on simulation results,the metal forming mechanisms of CWR are discussed. It also shows the distributions of metal flow field, strain field,damage field and the geometry of the workpiece’s end etc. These results could provide theoretical guidance for realizingnet shaping, reasonable design of tools and promoting material utilization ratio.
