摘要

The vibration of a serpentine belt drive system employed within modern automobiles greatly affects theperformance and reliability of the front-end accessory drive. After a brief introduction to the equations of motion of aprototype serpentine belt, a Holzer method is implemented for free vibration analysis of the system. Focus of this paperis to reveal the effects of some design parameters on the dynamics characteristics by means of numerical simulation.With an improved path-search procedure, an optimal design is conducted for a more desired fundamental naturalfrequency of the system.
