摘要

Polarization observation by lens-effect-tracing (POL) method was widely used in azimuthal alignmentSystem for Polarization-maintaining Fiber for its simplicity and accuracy. In this paper, The POL method in Panda Fiberof Matching Refractive-index (MRI) was studied by computer simu lation, and was improved to be used in theAzimuthal alignment of MRI panda fiber. The Power contrast intensity profiles in MRI panda fiber and distinguishingcharacteristics were obtained by numerical simulation. Some testing experiment was done on our experimentalalignment system. And the simulated profile and characteristics fit well with experiment ones. Furthermore, sometechniques to improve the result of this method were discussed. At last we draw a conclusion that POL method can alsobe used in the MRI panda fiber Alignment System. And as contrast to the phase-contrast-method, this improved POLmethod is fit for Auto-Alignment-System.
