摘要

According to the analysis of the shear localization in cutting process, a method based on micro-measurementof chips and used to calculate the serrated chip deformation was proposed. By this method, the shear strain and shearstrain rate in primary shear zones of the serrated chips of 30CrNi3MoV steel in high speed machining were investigated.Furthermore, the influence of cutting speed and tempering hardness on this investigation was discussed. The calculationresults indicate that the shear strain and strain rate increase with the increase of the cutting speed, and the hardness ofworkpiece is able to influence the chip formation and deformation mechanism evidently.
