The Waste-To-Power (WTP) Technology has been widely applied as the main waste handling technologyin Japan, because of its feature not only of sanitary handling and disposal volume reduction, but alsoobtaining electric energy from the waste. In the actual conventional type WTP plant, however, theefficiency had been stayed in low level such as around 10%.In response to such a situation, NEDO, one of governmental R&D centers in Japan, has been conductingthe technology development, known as High-Efficient Waste Power Generation Technologies since theFY1991. Three different types of high efficient WTP R&D projects have been done by the current fiscalyear. These R&D projects are being reviewed, and the results and findings will be summarized.
