Using computer imaging analysis method, the pictures of cucumber leaves withdifferent colors and textures are analyzed and the correlation between the physicalparameters and the Nitrogen (N) content of the leaves is studied. The colors are measured interms of the three primary colors: Red (R), Blue (B), and Green (G). The result indicates thatthe N content of the leaves and G weight of the images has high linear correlation. To extendthis result for field use, the relationship between the G weight and the compressing ratio ofthe leaf images was also studied. The result confirmed that the amplitude of variation is verysmall and there is a linear relationship between them as well. The feasibility of extending tofindings to lower resolution images is also discussed.
