Analysis of Development of Trans-regionalHarvesting using Combine Harvester in China

摘要

Tans-regional harvesting using combine harvester in China took farmer spontaneousactivities and small-scale management within province as the dominant factor before 1996.With the support of government and agricultural mechanization organization, trans -regionalharvesting extended with extraordinary development over the whole country between 1996 and1999. Since 2000, trans-regional harvesting turned into the stage of stable development, whichwas managed by the government, serviced by agency and driven by market. There are threemajor factors for the fast development of trans-regional harvesting in China: 1) increasingincome; 2) reducing cost; 3) increasing efficiency. The fast development of trans -regionalharvesting pushes forward the demand and production of harvesting machinery industry,improves harvesting machinery standards, speeds up technology development of harvestingmachinery and brings along the development of agricultural mechanization service industry.Recently, trans-regional harvesting is in the stage of transition from government oriented tomarket oriented. There exist some problems: 1) combine harves ters were blocked andintercepted during transportation; 2) there was lack of supervision and general management,which seriously drove normal harvesting in each region into disorder; 3) there was no standardfor agency service; 4) there was lack of information system and low efficiency. In order to pushforward sustainable and healthy development, trans -regional harvesting must be driven by themarket orientation, specialization and socialization, and the problems, which impede transregionalharvesting development, must be solved. First of all, there is a need to set up a newand creative management system, revise and improve relative legislation, set up marketmanagement system, agency qualified system and information distribution system. Secondly, itis important to set up a modern information service platform and enhance information guide andservice system. Finally, government supervision and management must be improved, andmarket system need to be developed.
