摘要

This paper treats of the design efforts in creating an effective and robust distributed measurement and control architecture for multisensor systems, founded on the recent and topical IEEE 1451 Smart Transducer Interface family of standards [1] and [2], that provides the common interface and enabling technology for the connectivity of transducers to microprocessors, control and field networks, data acquisition and instrumentation systems. To illustrate these points and to demonstrate the impact of this family of standards, a reference implementation of a simple distributed system for environmental monitoring has been developed and will be here described.
