This work presents the results of a real case study for the integration of a solar powered electricityproduction system in an innovative roof built to refurbish a 350 m2 courtyard at the University of Almería (South Eastern Spain) based on the conventional saw-tooth roof concept. The overall objective of the project has been the enhancement of the energetic efficiency of the resulting enclosure below the new roof by the architectural integration either of solar active and passive technologies on the basis of minor constructive modifications of a conventional constructive solution.The system performance is estimated after monitoring a set of relevant variables along one complete year of plantoperation. Because the constructive integration has resulted immediate according to the new roof concept and because the electricity yield is fully comparable to that obtained in other equivalent systems, it is possible to assess the feasibility of the issued proposal as an operative example of the simultaneous use of solar technologies adopted, in this case, on the basis of a conventional starting point.
