This paper develops a general analytical method based on Hong's work to study the effects of different mobility models on traffic performance of cellular network. A new discrete event simulation model is also introduced. Through both analytical calculations and simulations, we compare the traffic performance of cellular network under four different mobility models. Our study shows that different mobility models will result in almost same probability of blocking a new call if they have same average moving speed, while the probability that a call that is not blocked is eventually forced into termination will have some differences under different mobility models.
