A New Iterative QR Detection Algorithm for V-BLAST

V-BLAST (Vertically-Layered Bell Laboratories Layered Space-Time) is a multiple transmit and receive antenna system that provides very high capacity comparing to single antenna systems. Recently, a number of detection schemes have been proposed for V-BLAST. However these schemes did not fully use the diversity provided by multi-antenna system. In this paper, we present a new algorithm, which can iteratively utilize diversity information of V-BLAST. Comparisons are done with the V-BLAST Successive Interference Cancellation (ZF_SIC), The proposed algorithm is five times less complex than ZF_SIC and significant performance improvement can be obtained for symmetric systems, where there is an equal number of transmit and receive antennas.
