Analyzing Early Requirements in an E-commerce System with a Goal and Agent Oriented Approach

An e-commerce system is a kind of web-based system in which various services are provided for customers, such as advertising and awareness, displaying products, order and transaction processing, fulfillment, and so on. In order to implement these services, the designers should have notations to elicit, refine and operationalize the system requirements. This paper proposes to use a goal and agent oriented approach to analyze and model an e-commerce system and represent design knowledge of the e-commerce system. The model can be translated into formal specification and will be suitable for automatic analysis that is used to verify early requirements and facilitate formal analysis in later phases. Further more, this approach can support to model agent-oriented software architecture for this kind of complex system.
