The aim of the present paper is to examine theoretically thecalibration constants of saddle-like pick-up coils of different dimensionsfor ac loss measurements of mono and multifilamentary Y1Ba2Cu3O7-xcoated conductors deposited on flexible textured metallic substrates.Numerical simulations were performed using a finite element method.Dimensions of the pick-up coils and their positions with respect to thesample giving maximum loss signal and minimum inductive voltagewere found. The results can be used to assess the ac losses of coatedconductors manufactured for 1 MW superconducting generators.
