COMPARATIVE STUDY ON CONTACT AND CONTACTLESS SMART CARDS FOCUSING ON ACCESS CONTROL APPLICATION

The security issue is an important one for every organization. In particular the first step taken in order to have a better security system is the development of a secure physical access control framework. In this paper we will present a comparative study on contact and contactless smart cards, focusing on a physical access control application. By covering both hardware and software related subjects, we will show how these two types of smart card influence the development and performance of mis particular application.
