The Ecotube system is a primary technique to reduce Nox emission, based on pressurised airinjection through tubes extending inside the first pass of the furnace. This equipment has beentested on Energy from a Waste plant operated by Veohia Environment a six month trial period.Different configurations and settings have been tested, proving that it is possible to decrease theNox concentration below 200 mg/Nm3, representing a 45 % reduction efficiency, while keepingthe CO level below 10 mg/Nm3, without adding any reactant but air. Some tests have also beencarried out injecting ammonia through the Ecotubes. In this case, Nox emission levels below 100mg/Nm3 have been achieved.
