Comparison-shopping web sites can quickly aggregate product offerings from multiple vendors. Consumers can potentially benefit from this service, but different product, search, and customer attributes should be considered. A pilot study was conducted to provide empirical evidence and evaluate the benefit of comparison-shopping sites. The results show that the popular notion that comparison-shopping sites benefit shoppers might be incorrect or incomplete and needs to be studied further.
