The purpose of this study was to increase our knowledge of how future accountants and business persons' perceive earnings management. This is a timely topic given the recent rash of companies having to restate their financial statements. We find that the traditional instructional method of individually studying of topical material was not effective in altering students' beliefs about earnings management.
