摘要

The effectiveness of large visualizations will to a large degree be determined by the number of fixations a viewer needs in order to extract the relevant information contained in the visualization. This, in turn, is largely determined by the number of repeated re-fixations between two objects in the scene that is needed to perceive the structural differences between them. Because of this we performed two experiments to determine the amount of difference needed between two small objects in order for the difference to be seen using only one fixation per object. The properties investigated were orientation and size. Results show that, in general, large differences are needed.
