The compression moldig of lumber Substitutive materials was carried out by using fiber wastes(Rag). The felt with polypropylene(PP) binder was pre-molded by using the shoddy of various Rag. The substitute lumbers with various density and also with various volume fraction of PP were molded by compression method. The mechanical properties such as bending strength, holding strength of screw and pulling resistance of nail increased with increasing density of molded lumbers. The cutting ability of saw was also examined for the molded lumber,and the optimum density and PP contents were cleared. The results suggest that the compression molding method described here shows promise in contributing toward the material recycle of fiber wastes(Rag) as substitute lumber.
