摘要

Phenylboronic acid-based hydrogels bind glucose and other saccharides, becoming charged and swollen at pH 7.4. In alkaline media, glucose causes these gels to shrink, due to crosslinking. Here we study in detail the binding of glucose, fructose, and combinations thereof, to PBA-gels, as a function of pH.
