Sweetening Process Foaming and Abatement Part II:Case Studies

It was established in part I, that the contaminants that cause amine solvent foaming wereincorporated in the foam itself. A device was constructed that used a nonoxidizing gas to concentratethe foaming contaminants, separate the foamate from the amine, and collect it for discharge and analysis.Part II of this study describes the field results from using this device in gas plant and refineryapplications. Descriptions of the plant problems, and how the device performed in each case are reported.
