Molecular Dynamics Simulation of the Pressure Drop for the Gas-Solid Pipe Flow

摘要

A simulation method is presented to analyze the solids-gas pipeline flows. The method is based on integrating discrete mechanics for particles motion and a continuum for the gas flow. The trajectories of particles are described by the Newton’s law while collisions are treated taking into account particle-particle and particle-wall coefficients of restitutions. The method is validated by comparing simulations results against the experimental data for both vertical and horizontal pipes.
