Statistics of Cavitation Damage on Metallic Surfaces

Surface damage on aluminium plates caused by acoustic cavitation is studied experimentally with particular attention to its spatial distribution: Over time, it evolves from a random distribution into a gamma function, to approach eventually a power law.
