Since its introduction in [20], pairing based cryptography has become a rich area of cryptography. The key discovery that motivated most of the work in the domain is probably the identity based encryption scheme of Boneh and Franklin. At this point in time, a lot of research is still underway on the topic of using pairings in cryptography. As a consequence, we can hope and expect that many more applications are forthcoming in the months and years to come.
