This paper puts forward a new method to solve the defect in Technical standard for high building with box foundations and raft foundations and Standard for designing of building foundation , which did not consider the confined function of support in deep excavations during calculation of the settlement, and contrasted with the data in Zhongyin Building of Qingdao city in P.R.China .The result indicates that the method can be carried out and used for reference in editing the future standards.
