Integration of Automation PLC Development With Real-Time Simulation

摘要

A development environment to support major plant automation efforts at Arnold EngineeringDevelopment Center is described. Both reflective memory and Ethernet networks are employed tointegrate a tunnel model and a simulation PLC (for I/O simulation) with PLC-based automation systems.The strategy and development process of the "glue" required to produce a usable simulation environmentis discussed. Benefits have been realized in minimizing the time required to integrate the system and inproviding a platform for operator training.
