Reported here are conducting polymer coated fabrics with remarkable transducing properties in terms of strain gauge factor and temperature coefficient of resistance. They enable the realization of truly wearable instrumented garments capable of recording proprioceptive maps with no discomfort for the subject and negligible motion artifacts caused by sensor-body mechanical mismatch. In fact, application fields of this type of sensor are addressed in privileged way to biomedical monitoring of the posture and gesture of the body. In particular we have focused our attention on the analysis of the piezoresistive response in order to identify externally imposed strain by proposing a geometrical parameter which is aging independent.
