摘要

The aim of this study is to get an experimental insight into factors affecting the shearingperformance, to clarify response and to attempt a quantification of basic parameters, toaddress behaviour in terms of accumulated deformations, to assess potentials for a ductileperformance and for the mitigation of risk. Micro-and-macro-cracking, accumulation ofstrains in concrete and reinforcement, change of stresses and their asymmetry coefficients areconsidered. The influence of shear span, shear reinforcement ratio, type of longitudinalreinforcement, concrete grade and its age, flexural bond, loading parameters are analyzed.Low-cycle fatigue loading is treated as a simulation of seismic action. Assessment of strainsin all components of beams at any specified number of cyclic loadings accommodates theperformance based analysis. Dynamic characteristics of old concrete are discussed.
