A closed form analytical model was developed to study for axial deformation and angle of twist of thin-walled composite tubes with a tapered cross-section subjected to axial and torsion loading. The present method modified the lamination theory accounts for the ply stiffness change along the circumference for any given location. The present method was validated by finite element analysis. Parametric studies were conducted to study the effect of structural response due to ply stacking sequence, fiber orientation and radius ratio of composite tube.
