Anode Ground Bed Design Considerations - Well diameters and depths: Standard well is 10" nominal, with a 9-7/8" drill bit; 12" wells difficult to drill in hard formations; 8" gives less room for anodes, vent pipe, and coke; First priority should be to call the local permitting agency to determine permitting and seal depths; Standard well seal depth should be 100' minimum; Typical space between anodes is 5' to 10'; Depth of well based on number and spacing of anodes + 100' minimum sea.
