This study investigates the relationship between competitive strategies and strategic alliances as amechanism to enhance the potential of creation of technological know-how in developing countries. The articlediscusses the transition from the imitation to the innovation stage of product-market development and proposes amodel that has the potential of enhancing the competitive advantage of the firms in developing countries.
