A Coordination Model for Time Efficiency Analysis in Organizations

We propose a tandem queueing model to study the change in length of coordination structures in relation to the time and cost of processing transactions. We provide formulations in terms of system costs and utilization factors to determine the optimal length of a serial structure under the assumption that adding more nodes to the structure improves the service rate at each node up to certain limit.
