Maximum Efficiency Testing and the Future of Software Test Automation

We have barely scratched thesurface of how computers canhelp us test themselves. Today,test execution is the only areawhere software test automation isused consistently; except for afew and rarely used tools, mostsoftware tests are still designed,developed, and analyzedmanually. Capture/playbacktools, for example, are the mostpopular category in the testautomation market; but they aremostly used to automate theexecution of *manually*developed scripts using*manually* provided test data.Can all this manual work beautomated? Alberto Savoiabelieves so, and in this talk hewill share, justify, and explain hispredictions on the future ofsoftware test automation. Thepresentation will focus not onlyon technological advances, butalso on the inevitableorganizational and humanresource challenges that willarise as we try to maximizesoftware testing efficiency.
