This paper discusses the importance of solar cell efficiency to reduce the overall cost of electricity produced by photovoltaics. A large-scale demonstration of a concentrator PV system in White Cliffs, Australia is presented. The concentrator system, based on reflective dish and Point-Contact silicon solar cells, has a PTC efficiency of 20.02%.
